The events in Woodstock, Ingersoll, and Tillsonburg had a great turnout Saturday night.
OXFORD - Lots of people hit the streets of Woodstock, Ingersoll and Tillsonburg to support those experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness.
The three communities participated in the Coldest Night of the Year Saturday evening.
The outdoor walk in Woodstock had the tenth highest fundraising total in the country with $184,296 raised for Operation Sharing. The Friendly City also ranked in third place for teams with 77 and eighth place for walkers with 490 registered.
The Tillsonburg event brought in $50,977 and the Ingersoll event raised $52,931, bringing their combined fundraising total over $103,908. Those funds will support the transition homes run by United Way Oxford.
A total of 222 communities across the country participated in the nationwide campaign and raised close to $15 million when all was said and done.
