Tillsonburg Council will hear about their IT transition costs at every open meeting, until the total is in. In eight days alone, the town spent over 50-thousand dollars on the transition. Click the side photo to see the breakdown of costs. ?I was surprised at first, and then quite frankly I was even more surprised when I learned that it didn?t include everything, so I?m a little concerned,? said Town Councillor Marty Klein. Klein made the suggestion to look at the costs in every meeting: ?We don?t know yet what this is going to cost us, we have no idea. So I think it?s critical that we [look at this at every meeting].? Acting CAO David Samis can?t predict the total. ?Well it?s very difficult to say because IT transition costs could be new computers and everything else, so it?s pretty difficult. It?s so unknown right now because we are at the early starts of this,? said Samis. The current expenses include five days of hired security, an alarm changeover, a moving crew, and county costs.
