The cheque for $1,145 will help fill and distribute Christmas hampers to the less fortunate in the Ingersoll community.
INGERSOLL - The Ingersoll Theatre of Performing Arts has presented a cheque for $1,145 to the Ingersoll & District Inter-Church Fund.
The money was raised during the theatres most recent production of a Christmas Carol and it will help fill and distribute Christmas hampers in the Ingersoll area.
The cheque presentation took place during the final performance on Sunday, with ITOPA Treasurer Jane Hammond and starring actor Trevor Finkenzeller presenting the money to Joanne Claussens, the coordinator of the Christmas Hamper program.
ITOPA President Jim Konopetski is proud of the money they raised and the play itself.
“The Theatre owes its existence to the support of our community. It’s important to give back to that same community. Our play, A Christmas Carol, was overwhelmingly successful, with over 1,000 people attending. Close to 40 actors were in the cast, with almost 60 people assisting behind the scenes. Our Board of Directors strongly supported this fundraising effort to help out our community.”
