Ingersoll might finally get an off-leash dog park. Wayne Daub with the Ingersoll Off-Leash Dog Park Committee says they've been working on getting one for about a year and a half now. "Our first opportunity for a location was Lions Park in Ingersoll and that fell through. So we've been searching around for a long time for land to put a dog park on, which Ingersoll is very land-blocked at this time," said Daub. But they've found a park that could be the solution. John Lawson Park is located near King St. and Ingersoll St. The dog park would go on the east side of the park near the parking lot and mini-putt. "The committee is going to review it and make sure that they're all on side with it, and then we'll be asking the Parks and Rec Director from Ingersoll for next steps. We really want it to go in 2013," said Daub. He hopes they could have this land ready to use as a dog park by the summer. You can voice your opinion at a meeting tonight being held at the Fusion Centre at 7pm. The proposed location is around the area circled in the photo.
