The Canadian rock icon will celebrate Canada Day in the Friendly City.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock has announced its headliner for the Canada Day celebration in Southside Park and it's a Canadian rock icon.
Manager of Special Events Kristen Brodhagen says Kim Mitchell will hit the stage on July 1st this year, as the city also celebrates its 125th birthday.
"We are thrilled to welcome such a legendary Canadian artist to Woodstock to help celebrate the City’s 125th anniversary. This year’s Canada Day will be our most significant yet, as we mark this major milestone for our community."
Mitchell has sold more than 1.5 million records in Canada and his hit songs include Go For Soda, Rock N Roll Duty and Patio Lanterns.
The free concert runs from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. that day. Other musical acts including Northern Strum, Always on Friday and The Joel Dupuis Trio will hit the stage first, before Mitchell rocks the stage from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m..
Canada Day fireworks will light up the night sky afterward and you can find more information about Woodstock's Canada Day celebration online here.
