The online survey for Oxford County's next 10-year shelter plan will close on October 30th.
OXFORD COUNTY - Time is running out if you want to provide feedback for Oxford County's next 10-year shelter plan.
Residents have until Monday October 30th to ask questions and voice any concerns or opinions they may have. Oxford County Council will review the survey results next year.
The development of a housing and homelessness plan was mandated by the province to address housing concerns. Namely, the increasing population and cost of living, lack of rental and housing units, and growing amount of people in "core housing need."
This includes people living in inadequate housing for their needs, and those that must spend over 30% of their gross income on rent.
Oxford County first released a 10-year housing plan in 2015 which was reviewed in 2020. The county now released a "100% Housed" goal in its current strategic plan.
