The Oxford OPP has issued 24 impaired driving charges related to the Festive RIDE campaign so far.
ONTARIO - The West Region OPP is continuing to crack down on impaired driving as we head into the Christmas holiday.
Officers have conducted 1,673 Festive RIDE programs since November 16th. Looking at the results, 43 warning range suspensions have been issued and 249 impaired driving charges have been laid since then.
Twenty-four of those charges were laid in Oxford County.
When you look at last year's numbers, The West Region OPP conducted 1,458 RIDE checks in the first 33 days of the campaign with 210 impaired charges laid and 29 warning range suspensions issued.
This year's Festive RIDE campaign will wrap up on January 1st, 2023.
