The Nith River through Ayr and New Hamburg is under a Level 1 flood warning, with water expected to peak in those communities late Thursday evening. By Friday, they could be into Level 2 flood warning territory. In a release, the GRCA pinpoints areas of concern: In New Hamburg a Level 1 flood warning applies to residents in the Milton Street and Jacob Street areas. Levels in New Hamburg are expected to peak late Thursday evening. In the Village of Ayr, the Level 1 flood warning applies to residents along Tannery and Piper streets. Residents are advised not to park vehicles in low lying areas overnight tonight and for the next few days. Levels in Ayr are expected to peak late Thursday and remain high through the remainder of the week. Roads in the Wolverton area of Oxford County could be forced to close as the water will crest there closer to Saturday.
