Two separate cemeteries were visited this past weekend by a local Cadet group. The Navy League Cadet Corps Unicorn laid Canadian Flags at the grave sites of veterans.
WOODSTOCK - The Navy League Cadet Corps Unicorn in Woodstock paid tribute to fallen soldiers.
Sub Lieutenant, Marylou Fruin gives some details as to what took place.
"My Cadets and I, we went to two grave places, and we put flags on the veterans in honour of them, for what they did not only for our Country but for their services."
She adds the Cadets should be proud of themselves.
"I had some people come up to me and said that our Cadets were very respectful."
The age of Cadets was from 9 to 12 years old.
12 Cadets and 4 Officers went to the Presbyterian and Anglican Cemeteries this past Saturday and put 160-170 Canadian flags on the grave sites.
This was the first year, but Fruin says they expect to make it an annual event.
