Ceaderview in Woodstock has had 63 residents test positive and 7 staff members; Woodingford Lodge has had 14 residents test positive, 21 staff members and 2 deaths; Secord Trails Ingersoll is at 41 residents, 25 staff members and 2 deaths.
COVID-19 continues to run rampant through our local long term care homes.
Southwestern Public Health confirmed four new deaths this morning, including two people from Elgin who were residents at long term care homes in outbreak.
Right now the most severe outbreak in the region is at Cedarview retirement home in Woodstock. As of today, a total of 63 residents and 7 staff members have tested positive for the virus.
The outbreak was first declared on January 13. Heart FM has heard from family members of residents at the home that residents starting getting sick 2-3 weeks ago.
This one of 18 local long term care homes currently in outbreak. Secord Trails in Ingersoll is another one that stands out with alarming numbers.
A total of 41 residents have tested positive, along with 25 staff members. Two residents have died with COVID-19 since the outbreak there was declared on January 2.
Woodingford Lodge Woodstock meanwhile has had 14 residents test positive, 21 staff members have tested positive and 2 residents have died.
