Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng says we're in for some rain tonight and tomorrow, but we can expect sunshine on Sunday and the holiday Monday.
OXFORD COUNTY - The Victoria Day long weekend has finally arrived!
Environment Canada Meteorologist Gerald Cheng says we're going to have a wet start here in Oxford County.
"There is a front that is coming that will bring us some wet weather. We expect the chance of showers to go up tonight as the front passes and it might stay with us for the whole day Saturday."
Environment Canada is predicting 10 to 20 milimetres of rain for tonight alone, but Cheng says the sun will come out eventually.
"Brighter days ahead especially on Sunday and Monday with plenty of sunshine with high pressure. However, the temperatures are still on the low side because they should be about seasonal and our seasonal high should be around 21 degrees so we might have a hard time reaching that."
He says the sunshine should continue into next week.
Cheng says Environment Canada is also keeping a close eye on the wildfires in Alberta.
"Smoke does travel and it could affect Ontario. So we are keeping an eye on the air flow and how that affects the air quality, especially in southwestern Ontario."
