Police have arrested a man from Ingersoll for taking down the pride flag and tossing it in the garbage.
INGERSOLL - A 36 year old from Ingersoll has been arrested and charged with mischief after taking down the pride flag in Ingersoll and tossing it in the garbage.
Police were called after the flag was taken down at the corner of Thames Street and Charles Street in Ingersoll on Monday. The flag was erected as a memorial to the victims of Orlando and as a way to support the local pride community during Pride month.
The man was arrested without incident on Thursday and charged with Mischief under $5,000.
The OPP would also like to thank the public and the media for all the calls and assistance with the investigation thus far.
