A cold case involving frozen meat has finally thawed for police. 43-year-old Mark Blackmore of Brantford has been charged in connection with the theft of a refrigerated trailer from Norpac meats. Back in March, the meat packing company had a 35-foot long trailer stolen from their business. The trailer alone is worth $80,000, and it was packed with $27,000 worth of meat. The trailer turned up a few days later in Brantford, empty of its contents. Police arrested Blackmore this week, and he's on the hook for charges of theft over $5000, and possession of property obtained by crime. He's being held for a bail hearing in Woodstock.
