Woodstock Police assisted in the largest Fentanyl drug bust ever for the City of Guelph police.
GUELPH/WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police helped out in a massive fentanyl drug bust in the City of Guelph.
Yesterday police announced the arrests of six people on over 110 charges. Charges include multiple firearm and drug trafficking charges. Five men are still outstanding.
Search warrants were done at 3 homes, two in Toronto and 1 in Guelph. Police say they found 2.3 kilograms of Fentanyl, 907 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 288 grams of cocaine, 1 loaded sawed off shot gun with a high capacity magazine, 3 handguns and $15,000 in cash. The estimated value of the drugs seized is $500,000. This is the largest Fentanyl seizure ever by Guelph Police and equates to 100,000 doses, taken off the streets, each one having the potential to be fatal.
This investigation took 7 months to complete and included help from Woodstock Police, Toronto Police, York Regional Police and Waterloo Regional Police Service.
