Ontario's premier says a labour relations board ruling that deemed a planned elementary teachers walkout an "unlawful strike'' has prompted secondary school teachers to cancel a walkout they had planned. Dalton McGuinty says the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation informed him this morning that it won't go ahead with a walkout on Wednesday. It was a confusing morning for parents who had gone to bed thinking the walkout would close schools today, only to wake up to find out the protest was cancelled after the early-morning ruling. McGuinty thanked parents for their patience and said the ruling now means teachers must keep their fight in the sphere of the courts.
