Don McKay says it's exciting to know residents have confidence in him

EAST-ZORRA TAVISTOCK- It's official, Don McKay will remain as mayor for East-Zorra Tavistock.

When candidate nominations closed Friday, McKay was uncontested for EZT mayor. This term on council will become McKays fourth and he could not be happier. "Well certainly its exciting to know that there is the confidence of the people behind me in pursuing a fourth term as mayor East Zorra Tavistock and we look forward to the challenges and serving the public."

McKay has also served this term on Oxford County Council as Warden in addition to representing EZT. "One of the big challenges and opportunities as mayor is to also represent the township on County Council and it's certainly been a delight and a challenge to serve there and to deal with the bigger issues and by working with other municipalities have a strong Oxford County."
 
It has been anything but easy for McKay during his three terms as EZT mayor. "Certainly the biggest project over the previous 11 years as mayor has been dealing with the flooding issue in Tavistock and its taken almost that full 11 years to be able to build the infrastructure and find the resources and ensure that we're prepared for another significant rainstorm."
