The Oxford County Community Health Centre's mobile health bus has been visiting The Inn of Oxford County to offer services to the less fortunate in our community.
WOODSTOCK - Operation Sharing and the Oxford County Community Health Centre are teaming up to help the less fortunate in Woodstock.
The mobile health bus visits The Inn, Oxford County's only homeless shelter in the evenings to offer free services.
Executive Director of Operation Sharing Shawn Shapton explains some of the services they provide.
"So typically, they have a nurse practitioner on board and they will be able to deal with any health or medical issues that our guests seek."
Shapton says the guests at The Inn really appreciate the service.
"The results are just staggering, so quite often when we have people come to the shelter for medical reasons, they may see one or two, this past visit in February, they were able to see 14 of our guests. Which is just amazing and it shows that when you can create these unique collaborations, it means something to our guests and there is issues that need to be addressed."
Shapton adds they are always happy to collaborate with local agencies.
