Woodstonians wondering when construction will start on a new Beer Store outlet, will have to wait a few months to see activity on the site. Some minor delays in site plan approval with the city has set the start of construction back a few months. Lee Greenwood with Canadian Commercial Developments says they're just following the process. "There's no major snags, definitely procedural. There's just a number of steps we have to move through and it's been the normal course of business. We've been into the municipality for site-plan approval and we've had 3-rounds of comments and we've submitted drawings again. We hope we receive site plan approval in the next couple of month." Greenwood adds there also isn't a sense of urgency to get shovels in the ground. "There's just not a rush right now. The Beer Store has some flexibility about when they take the store. So between getting site plan approval, and cleaning up the site, there hasn't been a super rush to push it forward. So right now, we're looking at a late-fall, or early winter start." The plan remains for the store to open sometime in 2014. It will be a new concept beer store, one of only a handful in the region that will feature a drive-thru option where staff will load your purchase into your trunk. It will be located at the northwest corner of Dundas and Clarke.
