Council approves new funding for the Small Business Enterprise Center.
WOODSTOCK - The Small Business Enterprise Centre has been doing some great work in Oxford County.
Now with city council approving allocation of funding toward the centre, they are able to continue to do so.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says this is a positive and a win win for all involved.
"So the direct impact to the citizens of Woodstock is zero increase to the budgets that were already approved, but allows us to deliver better programming for everyone involved in small business."
The allocation of $26,000 from existing provincial funding will improve the Centre’s current and future service delivery. The funds allow the hiring of a contract employee to assist entrepreneurs in their business planning through the centre.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says he is excited about the work that is done to grow entrepreneurship in the county
"Having more funding from the Federal Government and the Provincial Government, as well as the county of Oxford, we are now able to facilitate many of these small business work shops with a contract employee, rather than hiring a consultant."
