BURFORD - The Burford Lions Club has donated $4,000 to the County of Brant to install new street lights along the Lions Way Walking Trail on Maple Ave. N in Burford.
President of the Burford Lions Club Willie Maertens says the Lions Way Walking Trail extends from Broadview Dr. on Maple Ave. N to the Lions Art Cadman Park Lions Park where the beautiful Whiteman's Creek winds through the park and an abundance of trails can be enjoyed.
"The trail is used for walking and biking by hundreds of people each year. Residents enjoy this trail and safe access to the park year round. The new streetlights help to illuminate the trail in the evening and early morning hours. The Burford Lions are committed to the health and well being of people in our community."
The new street lights have already been installed and the Mayor of Brant County David Bailey wanted to extend a sincere thank you to the Lions Club.
"We are so grateful for the Burford Lions Club and their generosity to the people who live in and visit the County. The Burford Lions Club have been incredible community leaders for many decades and are continuously working to advance the quality of life within our community."
