Garbage collection will remain Monday to Friday for residents in Woodstock
WOODSTOCK -- The City of Woodstock wants to make it clear, their garbage collection will not change no matter what the County decides to do about theirs.
Several councillors commented Thursday night they had received calls from residents confused with the proposed changes presented Wednesday by County Council in regards to their draft Waste Management Plan.
Woodstock Mayor Pat Sobeski said while they are under contract with the County to pick up their own garbage, they have a separate contract for recycling with a different company than the one the County uses and therefore garbage and recycling in Woodstock will stay on a Monday to Friday schedule.
City Engineer Harold de Haan says they run their own program the way they want to run it and are satisfied with their Monday to Friday collections and will continue running them that way.
