About 3,000 people and 500 vessels attended yesterday's Pottahawk Point gathering, but the Norfolk OPP is not reporting any serious incidents.
PORT ROWAN - About 3,000 people spent the day on Lake Erie for this year's Pottahawk Point gathering.
In a video posted on the OPP West Region Twitter page at around 8:00 p.m. last night, Acting Sergeant Ed Sanchuk says everyone behaved in a safe, mature and responsible manner.
"We responded to minor calls. One for a medical emergency and that person was brought back to shore with minor injuries."
Sanchuk says about 500 vessels were in attendance yesterday. There was a heavy police presence on the water and on land.
"Our main focus is public safety. We just want to make sure that everyone gets to where they're going but more importantly, gets home to their families."
Well it was certainly a beautiful day! Approximately 500 vessels and 3000 people attended #Pottahawk on #LakeErie. No serious incidents to report. A BIG #ThankYou to everyone that put their safety as a priority! @NorfolkCountyCA #NorfolkOPP ^es pic.twitter.com/YiQG5qF2YB
