Nominations Open for Oxford Tourism Awards of Excellence

You have until the end of the month to nominate a local business for the 2022 Oxford Tourism Awards of Excellence.

OXFORD COUNTY - Tourism Oxford has opened nominations for the 2022 Oxford Tourism Awards of Excellence.

The categories this year include Responsible Tourism Award, Tourism Partnership Award and Best New Tourism Product Award. Tourism Specialist Meredith Maywood explains what they mean by responsible tourism.

"So that could be a business who is offering a new green tourism activity, reducing waste when consumers do come to the area but also they are really leading the way in considering cultural and societal impacts of visitation to the County as well."

Maywood says local businesses are invited to nominate themselves and residents can also nominate their favourite tourism destination as well.

"People can self nominate, which we are encouraging businesses to do, because no one knows your business like you do. We find we are a very modest bunch here in Oxford County, but we are encouraging people to toot their own horn."

Nominations are open until March 31st. You can find more information on the nomination process online here.
