A busy time for the Norfolk County OPP. Multiple incidents took place spanning from last week until yesterday.
NORFOLK COUNTY - A dog owner was charged following an investigation involving a dog bite.
On Wednesday, November 1st, at 9:55 a.m., members of the Norfolk County OPP and Paramedic Services responded to a 9-1-1 call at a Windham Centre Road, Windham, Norfolk County address.
It was determined that shortly after 9:30 a.m., an individual was walking on the premises and was bitten by a dog.
The injured person was subsequently transported to a local area hospital where they received treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result, the dog owner, a 57-year-old female from Norfolk County, was charged with Owner of dog - fail to prevent dog from biting, attacking a person or domestic animal.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Friday, December 8, 2023.

Police are investigating after receiving information about a stolen golf cart.
On Saturday, November 4th, just before 9 a.m., the Norfolk County OPP investigated a theft of a golf cart at a Windham East Quarter Line Road, Windham, Norfolk County address.
It was determined that sometime during the late evening or early morning hours, unknown individual(s) attended the address and removed a golf cart that was parked on the property.
The golf cart was described as a black 2015 Club Car. A trailer hitch was attached to the golf cart at the time.
The investigation is ongoing and the public is being asked for their help.

Police are investigating after receiving information about a stolen pick-up truck.
On Saturday, November 4th, at 2:49 p.m., the Norfolk County Detachment investigated a theft of a motor vehicle at Green Street, Waterford, Norfolk County address.
It was determined that between Friday, November 3rd at 3:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 4th at 2:49 p.m. unknown individual(s) attended the address and removed a vehicle that was parked on the roadway.
The vehicle was described as a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck.
The OPP wants to remind all community residents to lock their vehicle(s) and to remove all valuables. If any member of the community observes suspicious activity, please call police.

One individual was charged with several offences after police investigated a disturbance involving an edged weapon.
On Sunday, November 5, 2023, at approximately 9:21 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a disturbance at a Windham Road 7, Windham, Norfolk County address.
It was determined that two individuals were engaged in a heated verbal dispute on the premises, during which an edged weapon was displayed. No injuries were reported.
As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.
A 38-year-old man from Norfolk County has been charged with; two counts of Assault with a weapon, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was held in custody for the purpose of attending a bail hearing.
