NORWICH - Norwich Township is still doing some finishing touches on their new office building.
Since the building opened in January they have been doing work in the office to beatify the new building and now that the weather is nice they are working on some landscaping as well. Norwich also need another round of paving in the parking lot because it was so wet last fall they couldn't finish the draw. Treasurer Michael Legge tells Heart FM they will have to close the office on Friday June 12th to get the job finished. "We probably could try and stay open, it would take away from the quality of the job at the end of the day and probably put seems in it. Our paving sub trade that's doing the job they recommend that you pave the full parking lot and let it sit for 48 hours in order to cure properly and harden in."
Legge says the landscaping should be done in the next couple of weeks and the paving should be the last step on the new building. If it rains on June 12th they have set up a rain date on the Saturday June 13th however if they do have to do it on the Saturday they will still be open for business on the Monday. Norwich Township originally budgeted $3 million for the project and Legge says they expect to come in at or just under budget
