A major player in the North American steel industry is coming to Woodstock and is in hiring mode. Nova Steel has acquired the former Hobart Brothers industrial building on Pattullo Ave. It's an expansive 148-thousand square foot building. But it looks like they're looking for more room, as construction crews are at the site, grading land on the south side of the building. (Pictured right) The expansion is said to be adding another 25,000 square feet to the facility. Officials from Nova Steel have been unavailable for an interview on opening in Woodstock. However, a job ad shows they're hiring for a variety of positions for their shop in Woodstock. Nova produces electric welded steel tubing. Hobarts closed up in April 2009, putting close to 100 people out of work. Here are the positions Nova is hiring for: -Mill Operators #01A-2 -Cut-Off Operators #02A-4 -Production Supervisor #03A-3 -CAD Operator/Designer #04A-1 -Process Engineer #05A-2 -Maintenance #06A-1 -Packaging Line Operators #07A-3 -Buttwelding Operator #08B-2 -Quality Co-ordinator #09B-1 -General Labourer #10C-16 Refer to the job # when applying.
