The Oxford County Injury Prevention Team wants to see kids bundle up and take part in Winter Walk Day
WOODSTOCK - The Oxford County Injury Prevention Team wants to see even more kids heel toe-ing it to school.
Public Health Nurse Kelly Vanderhoeven says the Injury Prevention Team is supporting Winter Walk Day on February 1st.
"Students are being encouraged to walk to school even moreso on just this one day and we will be celebrating with the students who do make it to school in the morning."
Members of the Injury Prevention Team will be meeting kids as they arrive at Southside Public school and celebrating their healthy choices.
"We're celebrating it at Southside because they have a School Travel Plan Initiative happening there. They are the only school in Oxford County that has a School Travel Plan Committee."
The day also includes a poster contest and a Safety Expo in the gym.
