Province launches Volunteer Portal and urges businesses to host employer-led clinics.
Ontario is calling out to businesses, volunteers and retired healthcare workers to further booster shot efforts.
"Our best defense against the highly transmissible Omicron variant is a lightning-fast offence," said Premier Doug Ford. "In a few short weeks, Ontario has scaled up its vaccine rollout at incredible speed, but we aren’t stopping there. Everyone has a role to play. It’s all hands on deck as we boost up Ontario."
The province is urging businesses to hold employer-led clinics to vaccinate staff aged 18 and older, their families, and local community members.
Businesses can call the Ontario Together Contact Centre at 1-888-777-0554 to learn more about hosting a vaccination clinic.
Ontario has also launched the COVID-19 Volunteer Portal to recruit volunteers to assist at vaccination clinics across Ontario.
People 16 and older can register to volunteer in a variety of roles based on their skills, knowledge, experience and local public health needs.
As well, the Ontario government is making regulatory amendments to allow individuals such as retired nurses, physicians, dentists and firefighters to administer COVID-19 vaccinations.
These individuals can click here to register.
