Members of the public can stop by between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. today.
EAST ZORRA-TAVISTOCK - The Township of East Zorra-Tavistock is celebrating their new administration building today.
It took 15 years of planning when the land was bought by the township but once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it put a pause on the construction.
Their previous building could not hold council meetings, but with this new addition, they can now hold meetings with more board rooms, and offices for staff as well.
Mayor Phil Schaefer expresses his feelings after the long wait of the process.
"We are really pleased it's finally finished. It's been open a couple of months now, and we are really pleased to show it off to the public."
Schaefer is inviting members of the public to an open house today.
"It's from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we are going to be giving tours of the building, and we will have refreshments. We are going to be cutting the ribbon at 3:00 p.m. It's just a great day to show off our new building and location, and our pride. We want to share that with as many people as possible."
The township's new administration building home is located at 89 Lovey Street, directly across the street from the old building.
