Operation Impact Results for WPS

The nationwide campaign targeted dangerous driving behaviours over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

WOODSTOCK - It was a busy Thanksgiving long weekend for the Woodstock Police Service.

Officers laid 35 charges under the Highway Traffic Act. This included speeding, failing to stop at stop signs, disobeying signs, and unsafe turns.

They also laid three charges under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, two charges under the Criminal Code, and one charge under the Liquor Licence and Control Act.

They seized one set of licence plates and issued one three-day licence suspension as well.

This was all part of Operation Impact, a nationwide campaign that had officers on the lookout for dangerous driving behaviours that put drivers, passengers, and other road users at risk.
