WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police and Oxford OPP launched Operation Borders on Thursday.
This is a joint safety project, that will see the traffic units from both detachments team up to enforce things like speeding and aggressive driving.
Yesterday officers from the WPS and OPP laid a total of 15 charges, 11 of those charges were under the Highway Traffic Act.
Police also clocked a motorcycle doing 130 km/h in a 60 zone just for 10 on Thursday morning. Officers were able to arrest the man a short while later with the help of the Canine Unit and the Community Response Unit.
It turns out the bike was stolen and a 45 year old man from Blandford-Blenheim was charged with the folowing:
- Dangerous Operation
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Mischief Under $5000
- Driving While Under Suspension
- Use Altered Plate
