The East Oxford-Oxford Centre Optimist Club has a lot to look back on and be proud of as they say goodbye.
OXFORD CENTRE - The East Oxford-Oxford Centre Optimist Club has disbanded after 36 years of serving the community.
Bev Leake has been with the club since the beginning and explains why they are calling it quits.
"The reason that we are disbanding is a lack of new membership and the current membership is getting old and tired."
Leake tells Heart FM looking back there are so many great memories of the work they have accomplished.
"I guess it would be all the things we have done for the community, getting new playground equipment for the East Oxford School and all the work we did for the East Oxford area."
Leake says they had their last meeting in June.
