Oxford County Council has had it's first look at phase one of the Official Plan Review.
OXFORD COUNTY - Oxford County Council is ready for the first phase of the Official Plan Review.
Council got a sneak peak of what's in store at their meeting yesterday.
Additional flexibility for secondary businesses in rural areas is going to be on the table.
Manager of Policy Planning Paul Michaels says they're also going to consider some changes to the natural heritage systems mapping, which make it easier to see various natural features on rural properties.
"Owners may be interested to see what has been identified for their property and what considerations might be made for those futures."
Any updates will align the plan with the current provincial acts, regulations, policies and guidelines.
Now that they have the go-ahead from council Michaels says they are ready to start their pre-consultation process.
"We'd start with talking to area municipalities, the province and other agencies to kind of refine the policies, following which would go out for a broader public consultation."
