Thousands of adults live with pain and infection because they can't afford dental care. That's what has prompted an Ontario-wide postcard petition calling for emergency dental programs for the less fortunate. The Woodstock & Area Community Health Centre met with MPP Ernie Hardeman to hand him 382 Oxford signed cards (seen in top photo). "I will be taking the postcards to Queen's Park and delivering them to the Minister of Community and Social Services to show the concern of the people who signed these postcards," said Hardeman (in bottom photo). Board Chairperson at the health centre Jason Smith says it's a big need in the community. "Public Health has programs and services that are available, but we're really looking to try to increase the eligibility for clients or patients to be able to access. Also, if there were services within a primary health care facility, to be able to have the opportunity to provide those services," said Smith. Over 70 community health care centres are on board with this campaign.
