OXFORD COUNTY - The Pan-Am Games Torch Relay is coming through Oxford County on June 18th.
Things will get started with the torch running through Ingersoll between 10:45 and 11:05 am and the town is having a celebration in front of Town Hall on Oxford Street to mark the occasion. Then the torch will make its way to Woodstock where the friendly city is one of two locations who will have a celebration stop for the torch run.
Manager of Communications and Special Events for the City of Woodstock Brad Janssen tells Heart FM they will get the party started at 11 a.m. "It's going to be a great visual, they have a 12 car convoy to bring the torch into Woodstock and everybody is encouraged to show up early, there will be music and all kinds of neat things happening including interactive displays and samples."
The torch will arrive at 12:15 at the Community Complex for about an hour before heading on another tour of the city. The convoy will head north of Norwich Avenue to Cedar Street through to Wilson before heading west on Dundas to Vansittart Avenue. Then the torch will make one more stop in Oxford in Tavistock before heading to Stratford and then Kitchener.
