BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant is taking some time to say thank you during Paramedics week.
Mayor David Bailey says they just wanted to take a moment this week to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of paramedics.
"Our Paramedics have been absolutely exceptional throughout the pandemic. Whether they have been responding to urgent calls and performing life saving measures, safely transporting patients to hospitals or vaccinating community members, the Paramedics have been an integral part of caring for our community throughout this ongoing emergency. I want to thank each and every Paramedic who tirelessly works for the Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services. You have cared for our community through a difficult time and your dedication and commitment is appreciated."
Chief and Director of Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services Russell King says it hasn't been an easy year.
"During Paramedic Services week, I want to thank this team for your tremendous work and sacrifice during the ongoing pandemic This has been a particularly challenging year. You have worked hard. You have worked long hours. You have put yourself in harm’s way. You have been selfless. Thank you for all that you do every day. Thank you for taking time away from your families to keep our citizens safe 24/7, 365 days a year. Thank you for risking your safety to protect others. Your selfless actions and dedication to this work are admirable. Thank you Brant-Brantford Paramedics!"
