Patient Intake Happening for HART Hub

There are steps forward for the HART Hub and the temporary Wellness Centre.

OXFORD COUNTY - Central intake has begun for the Temporary Wellness Centre.

The Centre is a part of the HART Hub model that has come to Oxford County. The HART Hub is made up of the Woodstock Hospital and local partners, who collaborate through the Oxford Ontario Health Team. President and CEO of Woodstock Hospital, Perry Lang, says as of November 3rd, people can call 519-537-2382 to self-refer themselves if they need mental health and addictions support.

"We are doing this on a phased-in approach, so right now that phone is managed during business hours, and in the near future, as we bring on staff and expand our services, that phone number will be available 24/7."

The business hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Lang talks about when the Temporary Wellness Centre will be operational.

"The Temporary Wellness Center is located at 369 Huron Street here in Woodstock, and we'll be opening that for bedded services in early December."

The Temporary Wellness Centre will be staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including nursing staff, social workers, peer support workers, and recreational therapists. The Centre will have 10 beds, and the end goal will be to have the permanent Wellness Centre at 16 Graham Street, with the ability to have 50 beds, and a full list of co-located services under one roof.

If you want more information about the Oxford HART Hub, you can visit the Woodstock Hospital website.
