The season has officially ended for all of Oxford County's Junior C hockey teams.
PJHL - The Provincial Junior Hockey League season has officially ended in Oxford County.
The Norwich Merchants suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to the Wellesley Applejacks last night. It was Game 7 of their best-of-seven Doherty Division semifinal series, and the Norwich was the last Oxford County based Junior C hockey team standing in the playoffs.
The Woodstock Navy Vets were eliminated last weekend, after suffering a 6-3 loss to the New Hamburg Firebirds on Sunday. Woodstock lost the Doherty Division semifinal series 4-1 in the end.
The Firebirds also eliminated the Tavistock Braves in the quarterfinals. That series went to Game 7, but ultimately ended with a 6-3 victory for New Hamburg on March 4th.
The Thamesford Trojans played their last game of the season on March 2nd, when they lost to the Port Stanley Sailors 4-1. Port Stanley won the Yeck Division quarterfinal series 4-2 in the end.
New Hamburg will face Wellesley in the Doherty Division final while the Petrolia Flyers will battle the Exeter Hawks in the Yeck Division final.
