The Woodstock Navy Vets will host the Wellesley Applejacks tonight and everyone is being asked to bring a new unwrapped toy for the Fill the Net Toy Drive.
PJHL - It's going to be a busy weekend in local Junior C hockey action.
The Woodstock Navy Vets will be back on the ice at 7:45 p.m. tonight when they host the Wellesley Applejacks at Southwood Arena. Donations will be accepted for the Fill the Net Toy Drive, which supports the Hunter Weston Memorial Toy Drive. Everyone is being asked to bring a new unwrapped toy for the Children's Health Foundation in London.
The Vets are also going to be in Norwich on Sunday for an afternoon matchup against the Merchants at 2:30 p.m. The Merchants will be on the road tonight, visiting the New Hamburg Firebirds at the Wilmot Recreation Complex at 7:30 p.m.
The Tavistock Braves will spend the weekend at home, with games against the Paris Titans tonight and the Firebirds tomorrow afternoon. Tonight's game will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tomorrow's game has a 2:30 p.m. start time.
The Navy Vets are currently leading the Doherty Division standings with 41 points. They're followed by the Firebirds with 35 points, the Braves with 28 points, and the Merchants with 21 points.
Meanwhile in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans will host the Mount Brydges Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. tonight and visit the Lucan Irish at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow.
The Trojans are currently in fourth place in the division standings with 34 points, behind the Dorchester Dolphins with 35 points, the Bulldogs with 36 points, and the North Middlesex Stars with 42 points.
