The Woodstock Navy Vets remain on top of the Doherty Division standings after celebrating two wins over the weekend.
PJHL - It was a great start to the New Year for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
Ty Crombie scored with just minutes left and Mitch Penner scored an empty net goal to secure a 3-1 victory over the Tavistock Braves on Friday.
The Vets also crushed the Hespeler Shamrocks 7-1 on Sunday, with Scott Rodrigue finishing the game with 36 saves.
The Norwich Merchants suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to the New Hamburg Firebirds on Friday, and demolished the Braves 6-2 on Saturday.
The Vets remain on top of the Doherty Division standings with 48 points. They're followed by the Firebirds with 44 points, the Braves with 32 points, and the Merchants with 30 points.
Meanwhile in the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans tied the North Middlesex Stars 5-5 on Friday. The Trojans remain in fourth place in the division standings with 39 points.
