PJHL Recap - Oct 31st to Nov 2nd

Multiple games were postponed so fans could watch the final games of the World Series.

PJHL - It was an interesting weekend in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

With Games 6 and 7 of the World Series happening on Friday and Saturday, some of the local games were postponed. This includes the Thamesford Trojan's game against the Exeter Hawks on Friday, the, the Norwich Merchants game against the Dorchester Dolphins on Saturday, and the Woodstock Navy Vets game against the New Hamburg Firebirds on Saturday.

The Tavistock Braves fell to the Norwich Merchants 4-1 on Friday and to the Wellesley Applejacks 4-3 on Saturday.

The Navy Vets were back in action yesterday, where they suffered a 4-3 loss to the Applejacks in overtime. It was a nail biter of a game, with the Vets scoring two goals in the third period to come back from a 3-1 deficit. Owen Ireton scored two of the goals for the Vets, while Tyler Bouck finished the game with 35 saves for Woodstock.

The Applejacks sit on top of the Doherty Division standings with 22 points. They're followed by the Navy Vets with 19 points, the Braves with 17 points, the Merchants with 16 points, and the Firebirds with 15 points. The Hespeler Shamrocks sit in sixth place with 13 points, the Paris Titans are in seventh place with 12 points, and the Dolphins are in last place with 11 points.

The Thamesford Trojans also beat the North Middlesex Stars 4-3 in the Yeck Division. The Trojans are on top of the Yeck Division standings with 22 points, only two points ahead of second place Middlesex.
