All of Oxford County's Junior C hockey teams celebrated wins over the weekend.
PJHL - It was a great weekend for the Woodstock Navy Vets.
The Woodstock Navy Vets demolished the Hespeler Shamrocks 10-0 at Southwood Arena on Friday. Dailen Fousek scored a hattrick and Brodie Kearns and Cooper Vickerman also scored two goals each.
It was a closer win on Saturday, when the Vets celebrated a 3-2 victory over the Dolphins in Dorchester. Charley Barnes scored the game winning goal with just over three minutes remaining to secure the win for Woodstock.
Meanwhile, the Norwich Merchants slipped past the New Hamburg Firebirds 3-2 on Friday but fell to the Wellesley Applejacks 5-4 on Saturday.
The Tavistock Braves only had one game over the weekend, where they beat the Dolphins 6-2 on Friday.
The Applejacks sit on top of the Doherty Division standings with 14 points and they're followed by the Braves with 11 points. The Navy Vets are tied with the Merchants for third place with 9 point each, followed by the Paris Titans in fourth place with 8 points, and the Firebirds in fifth place with 7 points. The Dolphins and the Shamrocks sit at the bottom of the standings with five points each.
The Thamesford Trojans crushed the Mount Brydges Bulldogs 8-3 in the Yeck Division on Saturday, before they suffered a 3-2 loss to the North Middlesex Stars yesterday.
The Trojans sit in second place of the Yeck Division standings with 12 points, while the Stars sit in first place with 13 points.
