Police say there will be R.I.D.E Programs in the city during the long weekend.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police will be out in full force this long weekend.
Officers will be conducting R.I.D.E programs throughout the city and will watching for drunk and stoned drivers.
Constable Nikki VanLeeuwen says they just want to make sure everybody stays safe during the holiday, "We want people to not drink and drive, not drive high and to be smart and pay attention so we will have extra efforts focused on impaired driving by alcohol and drugs this weekend so people should be prepared."
"It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend so we are probably going to see more young people outside cycling on the roads and the sidewalks, so people just really need to be smart, be sensible, slow down and pay attention." VanLeeuwen adds.
Woodstock Police say they will be targeting the 'big four' this long weekend. They will be looking for speeders, distracted drivers, impaired drivers, and also looking out for those choosing not to wear a seat belt.
