There's two potential locations in the running for the Town of Ingersoll's upcoming Multi-Use Rec Centre.
INGERSOLL - The Town of Ingersoll is currently considering two potential sites for their Multi-Use Rec Centre.
CAO William Tigert says they are looking to pick a site they can build onto as the town grows.
"They built a phasing plan where components could be added as long as the facility was designed so that it could be added onto later as partnerships grew, as need in the community grew or as funding became available."
The first property in question is south of Clarke Road, on a piece of industrial property owned by the municipality.
Tigert says the second piece of land is located north of the town boundary, in the Township of Zorra.
"The property on North Town Line is interesting because it is 56 acres, it is far cheaper as a cost to the municipality and it does provide the opportunity to consolidate all of the playing fields and the multi-use facility on one site."
The town has approached Zorra Township about a boundary adjustment, but those talks haven't gotten very far at this point.
Staff have also been directed to talk with the Township and the County about an official plan amendment, if the facility was to be built in their jurisdiction. If that was to take place, they would have to discuss cross boarder servicing.
