Four Ingersoll poultry barns have been placed a quarantine order due to an outbreak of the avian flu.
SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a quarantine order for seven local poultry barns after they were hit with avian flu.
Four of them are in the Ingersoll area, two of them are in Strathroy and the seventh is located in North Middlesex. You can read more about the quarantine order and the affected areas online here.
The CFIA is reporting 77 active outbreaks across the country right now with seven in Ontario, two in Quebec, two in Alberta, one in Manitoba, one in Saskatchewan, and 64 in British Columbia.
Officials say the virus is transmitted through migratory birds.
