Pride Family Day returns Museum Square for it's 10th anniversary this Saturday.
WOODSTOCK - It's one of the most popular Pride celebrations in Oxford County.
Pride Family Day will takeover Woodstock's Museum Square this Saturday. Tami Murray, the President of Oxford County Pride, says the day will begin with at 11am.
"We obviously like to do out land acknowledgment. We have an Indigenous drumming circle that will be joining us and then after that we will have an Indigenous rapper joining us which will be very cool and he will be joining us for about an hour."
The musical lineup also includes performances by Rob Cromwell, Kate Channer, You Had Me, and The Spice Queens and more.
Face painting and henna tattoos will also be available on site and the Tyrell Maas bursary will also be awarded.
Oxford County Pride is celebrating it's 10th anniversary this year, so Murray says the Family Day will be bigger and better than ever.
"Fifty-five vendors are going to be down at Museum Square. We have community organizations, artisans, businesses and some of the bigger chains like TD Canada Trust and Toyota."
Everything should wrap up by 5:00 p.m.
Murray will be stepping down as President of Oxford County Pride later this year. She has this message for everyone who has supported the 2SLGBTQIA+ community over the past decade.
"Some of it has been an up hill battle, but most of it I think has been a marathon that we are winning and we're going to continue to win and continue to be progressive. Thank you everyone and thank you Oxford County for all of your support throughout the years."
