Ontario is reporting 1,553 new cases this morning of COVID-19, 1,236 resolved cases and an additional 15 deaths.
ONTARIO - The Province of Ontario has confirmed 1,553 new cases of COVID-19 this morning, bringing the total number of cases in the Province to 323,509.
The Province confirmed another 15 COVID-19 related deaths this morning, bringing the total in Ontario to 7,202. Another 1,236 cases have been labelled resolved, bringing the total number of resolved cases to 303,493. The Province also confirmed 4 new variant cases today, this means we now have a total of 1,218 variants of concern confirmed in Ontario, most of them are the B.1.1.7 variant first discovered int he U.K.
The province completed 58,560 tests yesterday. We currently have 730 COVID-19 patients in the hospital with 304 people in the ICU and 186 in the ICU on a ventilator. Over half of the new cases today are coming from three regions with 404 new cases in Toronto, 294 in Peel and 176 in York Region.
