Local MPP Ernie Hardeman has announced over $3.3-million in provincial funding for the three hospitals in Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - The three hospitals in Oxford County will be getting over $3.3-million in funding from the Province.
The bulk of the funding, $2,589,400, will go to the Woodstock Hospital. Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll will receive an additional $303,800 and Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is getting $471,500.
Oxford County MPP Ernie Hardeman says this money will go towards the day to day operations in an effort to end hallway health care.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our local hospitals have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional care to patients and families in Oxford. This new investment is just one way Ontario is supporting high-quality and timely access to health care both during the pandemic and in the future.”
Hardeman adds this funding builds on the increased investments he announced in 2019 and 2020.
Woodstock Hospital President and CEO Perry Lang says they are grateful for this funding.
“We thank Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman and the provincial government for their support of Ontario hospitals throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This increased funding ensures that we will continue providing high-quality patient care and services for Woodstock and Oxford Country residents close to home. With the downward trend of COVID-19 activity, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank our community for doing their part and following public health protocols such as getting vaccinated.”
CEO for the Alexandra Hospital and TDMH Sandy Jansen says they are incredibly grateful that the Ministry of Health has provided this funding to our hospitals.
“This investment is essential to stabilizing our hospitals for the duration of the pandemic and as we enter the recovery phase. We are committed to continuing to provide the safest and highest quality patient care to our communities close to home.”
