Queen Elizabeth's funeral at Westminster Abbey will begin at 6:00 a.m. EST. Ceremonies will also be taking place at the cenotaphs in Woodstock, Tillsonburg, and Norwich later this morning.
OXFORD COUNTY - Lots of people in Oxford County and around the world will be paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth the Second today.
Her funeral will be taking place at Westminister Abbey in London, England. It will begin at 11:00 a.m. British Summer Time, which works out to 6:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
Here in Canada, it's a holiday for federal employees but banks will be open. In Ontario, it's a provincial day of mourning. This means the kids will still be in school today and the Ford Government is encouraging everyone to observe a moment of silence at 1:00 p.m.
Here at Heart FM, we will broadcast the moment of silence for 96 seconds at 1:00 p.m.
The Legion branches in Woodstock, Tillsonburg, and Norwich will also have special ceremonies at their cenotaphs today. The Norwich ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m., the Woodstock ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. and the Tillsonburg ceremony will get underway at 11:00 a.m.
