A donation to the Fusion Youth Centre today will go a long ways to providing after school programs in Ingersoll. Royal Bank of Canada delivered a cheque for $37,500 to the Youth Centre today. It's part of their national "After School Grants Project". Regional RBC Vice-President Tom Parisi says he's been lauding Fusion for the funding for several years. "I got the opportunity 6-years-ago to take my first tour and I knew this was something we wanted to be a part of moving forward. And I'm just happy it came to fruition today through an after school grant." Fusion Centre Manager Jason Smith says, "We're ecstatic. Our staff our excited about the opportunities it brings and the opportunity to expand and offer new programs. The impact it has on young people when you put that kind of funding forwards is just phenomenal." Fusion offers an array of programs from technology to sports to arts and even life skills and cooking. Parisi says he wishes they had a facility like that when he was growing up. "It's a bit different from when I was young. There's so many (new) things to do. However, they're embracing it and they really are our future, so I'm excited for them to realize their potential."
